Look North and what do you see? Well, if you're looking from the GTA you will see Barrie, one of Canada's fastest growing cities. It is rapdily becoming the centre of new condo development and with good reason as it has convenient access to the Go Train, lake, parks and you're a short hop to the beauty and relaxation of Cottage Country. It's not hard to see why many are making the move to this glorious area. Bremont Homes is introducing BHive Condominiums, to be located at Essa Road and Highway 400. First Time Home Buyers in Ontario Get Higher Tax Refund
February 1, 2017
With the increasing prices of real estate in Toronto, the refund of up to $4,000 for first time home buyers, which is effective by Jan. 1, 2017, is a move by the government to help young members of the community to purchase a home. This is a small step towards easing the hesitation felt by many regarding whether or not they can afford their first real estate purchase. The refund, slated to be up to $4,000, should offset the land-transfer tax from the first $368,000 off the home price of a first time home buyer. This is almost double ...
Of course condo living has outdoor space
May 9, 2016
Mother's Day was yesterday and we hope that all the loving, caring, hardworking moms out there had a wonderful day! Motherhood comes with many challenges and many rewards, and at the end of the day moms just want their kids to be happy and healthy. And let's face it, we want those little rug rats to get outside and blow off some energy on a daily basis. A misconception of condo living is that there is no outdoor space, when in actuality that is not true at all. Not only is there outdoor space but it's outdoor space which ...
Come At Me Snow
April 4, 2016
So what if it's snowing in April? It's not anything we Canadians aren't used to. We know Old Man Winter has a bit of a warped sense of humour and likes to give us one last salute when we think that Spring is here. It's ok with us because we like snow. It's the one thing you can throw at your significant other, friends and kids that won't hurt (except for ice balls don't throw them, a black eye from middle school taught me that lesson). Snow is quite beautiful the way it lightly falls to the ground. It's ...
Happy International Women's Day!
March 8, 2016
Women, whether you know it or not, or get the recognition or not, one thing is clear and that is you rule the world! You have the power to shape generations and you usually carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. You are capable, you are strong, and you are filled with compassion and empathy. I think of my Grandmothers, Mom and Daughters as I write this, and many of the other inspiring, amazing women out there. Happy International Women's Day to all of you!
This is the vacuum for you and your condo
November 20, 2015
I'm not sure if I mentioned in previous posts but I am not much of a cleaner. In fact I am downright ambivalent to cleaning most of the time. It usually takes a few unpleasant looks from my husband to realize I'm not pulling my weight in the cleaning department. So since I'm not known for my cleaning skills I like to equip myself with the best tools. For example I've got my friend Scrubbing Bubbles doing most of the work in the bathrooms. I've even enlisted one of those robot vacuum cleaners in my time. However awesome an ...
Tour des Canadiens 2 has arrived
October 30, 2015
Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat. Not too big, not too small just the size of Montreal. Speaking of Montreal (You gotta love that segway) have you heard the news? Phase 2 of the incredibly successful of Tour des Canadiens condominiums is coming soon. Tour des Canadiens was the fastest-selling condominium project in Montreal's history. We can definitely see why and phase 2 will be no different. Tour des Canadiens 2 is part of a new $2 billion Quad Windsor community, and has a direct above-ground connection to the Bell Centre (where Price puts ...
Space or clutter?
January 26, 2015
Now the last thing you want to do is make a space look smaller, especially one that may be quite small to begin with ahem wink Toronto and Vancouver condos. However, clutter is worse! So let's say you have a lot of books 'cause let's face it reading is a beautiful thing for the mind and soul. You like to collect books and you are not going to adapt to reading on an iPad or Kobo. So in a case like this opt for the built in bookcases or regular bookcases. Sure you don't want it protruding the extra ...

Are you using your condo gym?
March 5, 2014
The Sochi 2014 Olympics have been over for almost a couple of weeks now but we're still riding high on the epic performances of so many talented Canadian athletes! It was really inspiring and motivating to watch. Motivating in a way that wanted us to hit the gym or outdoors and be in peak performance mode. The question of the hour though is did that motivation last for us non high-performing athletes? We mean are you hitting your condo gym more than before the Olympics? Or getting outside more and taking advantage of fun and healthy winter activities? If the ...
